Narrative

JBK lived in Nimal Road, Bambalapitiya. He was the owner of the Farm
Shop right next to Holy Family Convent, in Bamabalapitiya. Later on he
was a Manager at Cargills in Colombo Fort. At this time in the 1960's
he also started on buliding a multi story building in Nimal road to be used
as rental property. It was the first of its kind and was the vision JBK saw for
apartment living in Colombo.

JBK was a the draughts champion at the YMCA, Colombo Fort. There is a
YMCA - B division Barr-Kumarakulasinghe Cup that is awarded
each year.
